Question by : Delonghi portable gas heater S/N 12/91. When I press the ignitor the pilot activates the middle bar, however w?
When I press the ignite button this activates the pilot and the gas comes on but when I release the knob or try to move to the next setting the gas is automatically turned off. It appears to be that the cut off is faulty perhaps. Please advise

You most likely need a new thermocouple, it’s the little metal tip that projects into the pilot flame, it’ll run back to the gas valve and screw in. If it is bad the gas valve can’t confirm the pilot is lit so won’t lit the main burner. Just get you a universal, any good hardware store should have one, about 8-15$
